What software does a street taxi company need?
Tomcabs keeps the record of a street taxi company whose work comes through apps as much as the street. Every race carries its pickup, drop-off and payment channel, Uber, Bolt, Heetch, card or cash, at the commission you set. Driver balances follow from those races, and drivers keep their documents and history in a Driver Passport that goes with them.
Every race on the record
A street taxi's day is a mix of app bookings and fares from the street. Each one is a race in Tomcabs, with where it started, where it ended and what it paid.
The driver records it from their phone in a few taps while the details are fresh, and the race joins the shift it belongs to. At the end of the day the shift already holds a complete list, not a set of screenshots.
One payment channel per race, at its commission
Uber, Bolt and Heetch pay on their own schedule, net of their commission; card takings land in the company account; cash stays with the driver. Tomcabs records the channel on every race and applies the commission you set for it.
Revenue can then be read per channel, per driver and per week, which is the only way the totals stay meaningful when one week mixes five ways of being paid.
Balances drivers can check
Because every race knows how it was paid, Tomcabs can tell what the driver holds and what the company received, and works out the weekly balance with the expenses the driver logged.
The driver sees the same breakdown as the office, line by line. Most arguments about money are arguments about what nobody could see.
Drivers and their papers
Street taxi drivers often work for more than one operator over a career. With the Driver Passport, their account, documents and history are theirs and follow them from company to company; they share their documents with yours by permission.
Tomcabs keeps each document with its expiry date, so you see what is valid, what expires soon and what is missing before it becomes a problem. Check the official sources for the requirements that apply to your licence.
