How ZYAD replaced its spreadsheets with Tomcabs

By The Tomcabs team
ZYAD is a taxi company based in Vilvoorde, just outside Brussels. It joined Tomcabs in January 2026.
Like most taxi companies we talk to, ZYAD ran on a spreadsheet. It worked, until it didn't.
The spreadsheet problem
A taxi day produces a lot of small numbers. Meter readings at the start and end of a shift. Rides paid in cash, by card or through an app. Fuel, tolls, a car wash. A commission for the driver.
At ZYAD, all of it ended up in Excel. Someone had to type it in, check it against the road sheets and the payment terminal, then reconcile what each driver collected with what each driver was owed. One missing ticket or typo meant going back through everything to find it.
The spreadsheet wasn't the real problem. The real problem was that the truth lived in several places at once, and a person had to stitch it back together every week.
One place for everything
Today, everything at ZYAD goes through Tomcabs.
Drivers open a shift, record their rides and expenses, and close it with the real meter values. The manager sees the same data the moment it's entered. Payment methods, commissions and driver payments are calculated from that single record, so there's nothing left to reconcile by hand.
The spreadsheet is gone. So are the hours spent rebuilding last week from receipts.
The numbers
Over the last 90 days, ZYAD recorded:
- €41,285 in revenue
- 1,719 rides across 155 shifts
- €24 in average revenue per ride, and €266 per shift
Since starting with Tomcabs, the company has logged more than 500 shifts, 6,300 rides and €128,000 in revenue. All of it is traceable, from a single ride to the driver's payment.
Less admin, same ambition
ZYAD didn't change how it runs its taxis. It changed where the work gets recorded. That was enough to take reconciliation off the manager's plate and give that time back to the business.
Thank you to the ZYAD team for trusting us with your day-to-day, and for the feedback that keeps making Tomcabs better.
